Touch Down In Croatia

Feliz Navidad!
We arrived in Split, Croatia after a 20+ hour flight.  As usual Mary spotted the celebrity in the airport bar, Jose Felicano!

Serge and Cynthia were waiting at the airport ready to show us the best of Split and their newest baby. The baby happens to be a beautiful yacht named Vanilla. Don't let the name fool you, there is nothing plain about her.  Split is a lovely historic place in an old world setting.  The people on the other hand are a bit distant.  If you say hello they look like they might hurt you. Mary is convinced they have not seen too many black people live and up close or maybe they think she is Whitney Houston.

The following day Serge and Cynthia took us sightseeing to Diocletian's Palace where we found the statue of St. Gregory of the Nin. They say if you rub his big toe it will bring good luck.  We all rubbed the foot wishing for safe passage. We plan on leaving Split on Wednesday after the sails are refitted onto the mast and fore stays.  Serge is anxious to get underway.  The weather looks good for now, but we may have to go rub Gregory´s foot one more time.
